The Federal Ministry of Planning Charts Path Forward with UN Cooperation Framework Evaluation

MOGADISHU, Somalia (MOPIED) — The Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia has today convened a meeting in Mogadishu to validate the findings of the 2021-2025 United Nations Cooperation Framework (UNCF) evaluation. The high-level session was co-chaired by the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Mohamud Said Nur, and focused on progress, challenges, and recommendations related to Somalia’s development agenda.

The evaluation, presented by the ACTFORPERFORMANCE team, assessed achievements and gaps across four key pillars: Inclusive Politics, Security and Rule of Law, Economic Development, and Social Development. Participants engaged in group discussions and a plenary session to provide feedback and propose actionable recommendations.

In his remarks, Director Nur emphasized the importance of aligning international cooperation frameworks with Somalia’s National Transformation Plan to drive sustainable progress. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging the evaluation findings to enhance development efforts, strengthen partnerships, and deliver meaningful outcomes for the Somali people.
