The Fourth National Steering Committee of the Inclusive Local and Economic Development (ILED) Program was held today, with top officials in attendance. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mohamed Abdikadir Ali, Deputy Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia.
During the meeting, strategic agenda items were discussed, and updates were given on the Territorial Integrated Approach’s execution and the integration of ILED’s critical cross-cutting issues. The program, funded by the EU and receiving contributions from Sweden and Denmark, is a multi-sector program designed to increase stability along four territorial corridors in Somalia.
The project aims to support local governance and stabilization while promoting inclusive economic opportunities and protecting the most vulnerable in the community. The meeting was hailed as a success by all attendees, with many expressing optimism about the future of the program.
The ILED Program has already made significant progress in increasing stability in Somalia, and the Fourth National Steering Committee meeting was an important step in continuing that progress.
