



MOGADISHU, Somalia (MoPIED) — The Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting for the Joint Resilience Programme (JRP) Phase III and JRP 2.0 convened in Mogadishu on Monday, bringing together key government ministries both Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) partners, including FAO, UNICEF, WFP, KfW, government ministries, and NGO’s.
The meeting focused on addressing challenges and advancing efforts to transition from humanitarian support to long-term sustainability through community-driven interventions in education, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), nutrition, and livelihoods. It also highlighted the closure of JRP Phase III, lessons learned, and achievements, as well as the development of a work plan for 2025.
Chaired by Mohamed Shire, Director General of the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, the discussions emphasized the importance of collaboration in strengthening resilience and achieving sustainable development for Somali communities.
The session concluded with remarks from government representatives and development partners, reaffirming their commitment to fostering resilience and empowering Somali communities through inclusive and sustainable developments.
