The Director-General of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development (MoPIED) of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Shire, held a meeting earlier today with Mr. Ygor Scarcia, the country representative for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), to discuss economic development matters in Somalia. The agenda of the meeting included providing technical assistance to domestic investors, establishing a favourable environment for foreign investors, and strengthening strategic partnerships. The two parties also discussed ways to foster a positive investment climate in the country for both domestic and foreign investors. The meeting is expected to pave the way for further cooperation between MoPIED and UNIDO in achieving economic growth and development goals in Somalia.
