EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Federal Government of Somalia officially launched the National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025-2029). This visionary strategy aims to foster significant progress across governance, economic growth, social development, and environmental resilience. Aligned with Somalia’s Centennial Vision 2060, the plan is built on four key pillars: transformational governance, sustainable economic transformation, social and human capital development, and environmental and climate resilience. The NTP marks a strategic shift from previous National Development Plans, emphasizing high-impact, inclusive, and measurable change. Extensive consultations with diverse national and international stakeholders underpin the plan’s design, ensuring robust implementation and alignment with national priorities. Somalia’s government has called for broad collaboration to achieve sustainable, inclusive prosperity for its citizens.
Additionally, the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development released a Joint Monitoring Report assessing the World Food Programme’s (WFP) 2024 interventions, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future recommendations to enhance humanitarian outcomes. The month also featured recognition ceremonies for officials instrumental in developing the NTP and critical discussions with international partners, including the UK and the UN, on development cooperation and the impact of aid funding.
