INTRODUCTION
In April 2026, the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia further strengthened its leadership role in guiding the country’s development agenda, focusing on coordinating planning, accelerating investment, and implementing effective results-based monitoring and evaluation systems.
During this period, the Ministry held strategic meetings at both national and international levels to strengthen collaboration with development partners, align projects and policies with the National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025–2029), and enhance transparency, accountability, and the performance of government institutions.
The Ministry’s efforts also clearly demonstrated the importance of harmonizing national planning, fast-tracking the attraction of domestic and foreign investment, and building capable, coordinated government institutions that operate on the basis of measurable results.
This report presents the key events, meetings, and developments that took place between April 1 and April 30, 2026, reflecting the Ministry’s strategic direction and its ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable economic development that benefits all Somali citizens.
