Deputy Planning Minister Attends Arab Planning Institute Meeting in Kuwait

On Jan. 8, 2025 — The Deputy Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali, led the Somali delegation at the inaugural Board of Trustees meeting of the Arab Planning Institute for 2025, held in Kuwait.

During the meeting, the Government Spending Index for Arab countries was officially released, providing key insights into fiscal trends and efficiency across the region.

In addition to attending the board meeting, Minister Abdulkadir held a productive meeting with the institute’s Director General, Abdalla Shami. The two officials discussed strategies to strengthen the institute’s support for Somalia, particularly in economic planning, capacity building, and institutional development.

The event highlights Somalia’s active participation in regional development initiatives and its commitment to leveraging partnerships to support its national priorities.
