General Overview

September 2025 marked a significant milestone for the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development (MoPIED), demonstrating the Ministry’s leadership in advancing Somalia’s National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025–2029) and fostering evidence-based collaborations for sustainable development.

Throughout the month, MoPIED conducted high-level national consultations and engaged with key international partners to ensure alignment of development efforts with Somalia’s strategic priorities. Key achievements included the NTP Pillar Coordination Meetings in Mogadishu, the Busan Global Partnership Forum 2025 in Seoul, the inauguration of the Somalia Evaluation Society (SOMES), and enhanced cooperation with the United Nations system and other stakeholders.

These endeavours underscore Somalia’s progress in promoting good governance, sustainable economic growth, human capital development, and climate resilience, while emphasising the significance of inclusive and accountable approaches to accomplish long-term development objectives.
