Executive Summary Welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter highlighting the recent initiatives by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development (MoPIED) of Somalia.  

• The Invest Somalia and Expro conference was recently held to facilitate foreign direct investment and explore investment opportunities in Somalia, which promises a prosperous future for Somalia.
• The Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development (MoPIED) of Somalia participated in the Ministerial session of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) held in New York, USA, highlighting Somalia’s commitment to addressing population and development issues.
• The Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development (MoPIED) of Somalia also chaired a National Development Council meeting focused on bolstering statistical collaboration with Ministries of Planning of Federal Member States, enhancing institutional capacity, and further fast-tracking implementation of planned activities to inform decision-making processes.
• The MoPIED held its senior leadership meeting to review the ministry’s accomplishments in the first quarter of 2024 and finalize preparations for the National Development Plan (NTP).
• Finally, The Department of Poverty Reduction and Durable Solutions, under MoPIED, conducted comprehensive workshops on the Development of the Action Plan for the Solutions Pathways to help remove one Internally Displaced Person (IDP) from the current situation in 2024-25.
