Biography
Mr. Mohamed Adan Mohamed, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development (MoPIED) by the Somali Federal Government. Has brought a rich background in political affairs and development initiatives, Mr. Mohamed brings over a decade of experience in institutional governance and community engagement to his new role.
As a current Member of Parliament, he continues to serve the interests of his constituents while focusing on strategic planning and investment to promote economic growth. His recent accomplishments include successfully negotiating contracts to reduce costs and securing vital funding for community development programs aimed at alleviating poverty.
Previously, Mr. Mohamed served as Deputy Minister in the Southwest State of Somalia, where he developed programs for at-risk youth, coordinated infrastructure projects, and fostered partnerships with local stakeholders. His leadership is characterized by a commitment to public interest, effective crisis management, and proactive legislative drafting.
In addition to his role in government, Mr. Mohamed has been actively involved in various community development initiatives and has demonstrated a strong ability to build relationships across diverse groups. His approach is centered on promoting peace and prosperity through collaborative efforts and investment in human capital.
Mr. Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Mount Kenya University and is fluent in Somali, English, Arabic, and Kiswahili. His dedication to service, combined with his extensive experience, positions him as a valuable asset to MOPIED and the Somali Federal Government.
