



The Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development (MoPIED) of the Federal Government of Somalia organized a training on M&E tools and techniques for the Annual Performance Review of Federal Government of Somalia Institutions. The aim was to enhance the knowledge and skills of the government staff in monitoring and evaluating the programs and projects of their respective ministries.
“The importance of M&E cannot be overstated, and this training is a crucial step in ensuring that we have the necessary knowledge and skills to monitor and evaluate the programs and projects of our respective ministries effectively,” said Mohamed Shire, the Director-General of MoPIED, who officially opened the training.
During the training, the participants took part in interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, which helped them to better understand the significance of M&E in achieving the government’s objectives.
“The training covered a wide range of topics, including data collection and analysis, performance indicators, results-based management, and reporting. We also introduced the participants to various M&E tools and techniques, such as the Kobo toolbox, which will help them carry out effective monitoring and evaluation of the ongoing programs and projects in the country,” said Mohamud Said Nur, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of MoPIED, who provided in-depth details of the training.
