The Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, H.E. Mohamud Abdirahman Beenebeene, met with the Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education, H.E. Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, to discuss the importance of combining efforts among stakeholders through the newly established Aid Architecture. The Ministers emphasized the need to harness the potential of the Aid Architecture and channel it towards the education sector to drive tangible results.
During the meeting, the Director-Generals of both Ministries were present, highlighting the significance of inter-ministerial collaboration in achieving the desired outcomes of the National Development Plan (NDP). Also present was the director of the Aid Coordination Office, who presented the current status of aid flows and how they are aligned with the objectives of the education sector within the NDP.
Despite acknowledging significant challenges ahead, such as ensuring access to quality education for all children and creating an environment conducive to learning and growth, both Ministers pledged to work together and leverage the support of international partners through the Aid Architecture to address these challenges effectively. They reiterated their commitment to the principles of inclusivity, transparency, and accountability in implementing the National Development Plan, emphasizing the importance of continuous evaluation and adaptive strategies to ensure positive and sustainable results.
