Investment Facilitation and Support Section
SOMINVEST found that allocating staff involved in investor facilitations activities gives best results. Facilitation section assumes responsibility for an identified portfolio of investors, projects and a specified set of activities. In this approach, both the agency and the investor will have clear lines of accountability and control.
Key Functions
- Provide administrative, operational and strategic services to investors.
- Provide follow up, aftercare and investor development services to investors.
- Retain: keep existing investors from leaving the country.
- Diversify: support opportunities for other, higher value business activities.
- Information management and keeping investor databases.
- Understanding investors and constantly meeting investors’ needs.
- Support enquiries in relation to investor matters positively and promptly.
- Servicing existing investors.
- Removing administrative obstacles and managerial impediments to investment.
- Pre-approval services, including information services, site-visit services and procedures for handling investors.
- Approval services, including screening, evaluating and approving projects for incentives and permits required by the Government.
- Post-approval services, including assistance with matters that arise during implementation of a new project.
